Fitch

Fitch fought his potential abductors and by doing so he saved the life of his brother Abercrombie.
Unfortunately Fitch could not recover from the injuries he received from these cruel and heartless people and he succumbed. Fitch lost his battle for life on March 5, 2007 at 11:56pm at the University of Georgia.
Rest in Peace Dear Brave Fitch... For you we will continue to fight!!!

We Are Home

To many the day was dark a glum, raining off and on and nothing but clouds overhead. It was hard to notice that because to the Pure Thoughts family it was a day full of happiness, hope and the affirmation that the dreams of the horses are coming true, sometimes one horse at a time and sometimes more.

Today three very lucky angels will be going to their forever home. A wonderful woman named Fracoise had opened her heart and her home to Chantilly Lace (Momma Donkey), Milkshake (Baby Donkey) & Reprieve (the very aged gelding gray pony.)

Carol pulled up in her beautiful trailer and everyone started getting going. Reprieve was loaded first, he loaded as a true Gentleman who had gone down this route before but this will be his last time, he is home, he will be forever loved and will never again wonder what he did to have to leave. Next it was Chantilly and Milkshake. Chantilly Lace lives up to her heritage and as sweet as she is, she is also a stubborn Donkey. With a little hesitation and some coaxing she loaded onto the trailer. Milkshake her baby on the other hand is a fly by the seat of your pants type of guy. He is very independent and has not problem walking off without Momma. You usually have to give him a tap on the shoulder to remind him because he is lost in dreamworld. Facing the wrong direction and not paying attention, just enjoying life as it goes by..one day at a time. I don;t think this little man ever knew how much trouble he and his Mom were in. He just knows that people have been really nice to him and his Momma has taken very good care of him. Ina short tie he has had many different "rest places" quite the world traveler for being less than a month old....but now he is home ... forever..

The trailer pulled out with Carol at the wheel and Mandy in the passenger seat. Victoria and Brad were in the trailer as personal escorts for this special load...and me.. well I was in the truck behind.. snapping pictures..

We arrived without any complications, unloaded and everyone got settled in nicely. The horses that were already there gave them a nice welcome and all three were more than happy to get into their stalls. They all were very peaceful, ... they knew they were home and they were safe. Francoise greeted them with a smile so bright, she talked to her new little family and the love was flowing. Some people come to adopt and look for the most special, the fanciest, the best mover etc... but Francoise, true to the animal lover she has always been and the rescue family that she is now a part of, was just looking to help three little lives that needed her ... and she did. .

Moonbeam, The sister Donkey that is still in Ohio will be joining her Mom and her little brother very shortly. .

Here are some pictures from the special delivery.
